This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, – 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
