The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 Do men think they will get away by saying: "We believe," and will not be tried? 2 And certainly We tried those before them, so Allah will certainly know those who are true and He will certainly know the liars. 3 Do the evil-doers suppose that they will get the better of Us? How evil is their judgement! 4 For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things). 5 Whosoever struggles, struggles only to his own gain; surely God is All-sufficient nor needs any being. 6 And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most certainly do away with their evil deeds and We will most certainly reward them the best of what they did. 7 And upon man We ordained kindness towards parents; and if they strive to make you ascribe a partner with Me, about which you do not have any knowledge, then do not obey them; towards Me only is your return and I will tell you what you used to do. 8 And those who believe and work righteous works - We shall surely cause them to enter among the righteous. 9 Now there is among men many a one who says [of himself and of others like him,] "We do believe in God" - but whenever he is made to suffer in God's cause, he thinks that persecution at the hands of man is as [much to be feared, or even more than,] God's chastisement; whereas, if succour from thy Sustainer comes [to those who truly believe] he is sure to say: "Behold, we have always been with you!" Is not God fully aware of what is in the hearts of all creatures? 10 And most certainly Allah will know those who believe and most certainly He will know the hypocrites. 11 And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins." But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars. 12 They shall certainly carry their loads, and other loads besides their loads, and on the Day of Resurrection, they shall be questioned about what they forged. 13
