Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 Those who establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity, and have (in their hearts) the assurance of the Hereafter. 4 These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance,] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. 6 Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 Surely those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there awaits them Gardens of Bliss 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. 11
