Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
