S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 Does he make all the deities out to be one God? This is indeed a strange thing." 5 And the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)! 6 We have not heard of this in later religion. This is naught but an invention. 7 Has the message been revealed to him out of [all of] us?" Rather, they are in doubt about My message. Rather, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Do they have the stores of the mercy of your Lord, the mighty and munificent? 9 Is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for them? So would they not just ascend using ropes? 10 This is just one of the disgraced armies, that will be routed there and then. 11 Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, as did the 'Ad and Pharaoh of the Stakes, 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. 13 Each of them gave the lie to Messengers and My decree of chastisement came upon them. 14
