And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 "Take a handful of herbs," (We said to him), and apply and rub them, and do not make a mistake." We found him patient in adversity, an excellent devotee, always turning in repentance. 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 And in Our sight, they are indeed the chosen ones, the beloved. 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 This is an advice; and indeed for the pious is an excellent abode. 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 Reclining within them, they will call therein for abundant fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them are the pure spouses, who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, of single age. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 Verily this is Our provision: there will be no ceasing thereof. 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 This is so! Then let them taste it, a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges. 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They will say: “Our Lord, give twofold punishment in the Fire to him who has led us to this.” 61 They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked? 62 Did we laugh at them (for nothing), or our eyes fail to pick them out?" 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
