And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 (Allah said to him): "Strike the ground with your foot: This is a spring of water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink." 42 We restored his family to him, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder to all who are endowed with insight. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 Remember Our votaries Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of power and insight. 45 for, verily, We purified them by means of a thought most pure: the remembrance of the life to come. 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. 48 This is a reminder; and most surely there is an excellent resort for those who guard (against evil), 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 They will say to them, "You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay," 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they will say: 'Why do we not see the men that we counted as being among the wicked in here? 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?" 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
