And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 We said, "Stamp your foot! Here is cool water for you to wash in and drink," 42 We restored his family to him with others similar to them, as a blessing from Us and a reminder for men of wisdom. -- 43 [We said], "And take in your hand a bunch [of grass] and strike with it and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah]. 44 Remember also Our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- men of might they and of vision. 45 Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter. 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 This is surely Our provision never-ending. 54 This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones; 55 they will burn, in Hell, an evil resting place -- 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds. 58 [Its inhabitants will say], "This is a company bursting in with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they will burn in the Fire." 59 They will say to them, "You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay," 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 Verily, that is the very truth, the mutual dispute of the people of the Fire! 64
