Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
