Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 and the smooth runners 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
