The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount, 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 By the much-frequented Fane; 4 and the roof uplifted 5 Consider the surf-swollen sea! 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 There shall be none to avert it; 8 Upon the Day when the heaven spins dizzily 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Who, ignoring the Reality, engage in pleasantries. 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 They will recline on couches arranged in rows and We shall couple them with maidens with large, lovely eyes. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 "But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
