The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The piercing star! 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
