Al-Najm 3 of 3
Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 while you make merry? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
