The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 Created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
