The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 Created man, 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
