Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in a lofty Garden 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
