Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ (Muhammad), say, "It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), "We heard an amazing reading 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”; 9 And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 Yet [thus it is] that whenever a servant of God stands up in prayer to Him, they [who are bent on denying the truth] would gladly overwhelm him with their crowds. 19
