The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
