The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
