The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Ta. Sin. These are revelations of the Qur'an and a Scripture that maketh plain; 1 A guidance and good tidings for believers 2 who are steadfast in prayer, who pay the religious tax, and who have strong faith in the life hereafter. 3 As for those who will not believe in the life to come - behold, goodly have We made their own doings appear unto them, and so they stumble blindly to and fro 4 Such are they for whom a grievous Penalty is (waiting); and in the Hereafter theirs will be the greatest loss. 5 Lo! as for thee (Muhammad), thou verily receivest the Qur'an from the presence of One Wise, Aware. 6 (Remember) when Moosa said to his wife, “I have sighted a fire; I will soon bring its news to you, or bring for you an ember from it so that you may warm yourselves.” 7 Then when he came unto it, he was cried unto: Thus; Blest is whosoever is in the fire and whosoever is around it; and hallowed be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. 8 “O Moosa, I am indeed, in truth, Allah the Almighty, the Wise.” 9 Cast down thy staff.' And when he saw it quivering like a serpent he turned about, retreating, and turned not back. 'Moses, fear not; surely the Envoys do not fear in My presence, 10 Except those who do some wrong but afterwards do good to make up for the wrong. And I am forgiving and merciful. 11 And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient." 12 But when Our Clear Signs came to them, they said: "This is plain magic." 13 and in their wickedness and self-exaltation they rejected them, although their minds were convinced of their truth: and behold what happened in the end to those spreaders of corruption! 14
