The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and gently take it away; 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
