The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
