Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the close of night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
