Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 who know all that you do: 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
