He it is Who sendeth down water from the sky, whence ye have drink, and whence are trees on which ye send your beasts to pasture. 10 And with it He grows for you corn, and the olive and the date-palm and the grape, and all kinds of fruits. Surely, in that is a sign for a people who reflect. 11 And He subjected to you the night and day, and the sun and moon; and the stars are subjected by His command. Surely in that are signs for a people who understand. 12 And what He has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful. 13 It is He who has subdued the sea that you may eat fresh meat from it, and obtain ornaments to wear. You see the ships plough through it that you may seek of His bounties and, perhaps, be grateful. 14 And he has placed firm mountains on earth, lest it sway with you, and rivers and paths, so that you might find your way, 15 And landmarks (signposts, etc. during the day) and by the stars (during the night), they (mankind) guide themselves. 16 So, could one who creates be like one who cannot? Will you not then contemplate? 17 If you count the favours of God you will not be able to calculate. Assuredly God is forgiving and kind. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you declare. 19 And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created; 20 They are dead, not alive; and they do not know when will the people be raised. 21
