The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
