The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
