The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
