Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 cushions ranged, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
