The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 What is your opinion regarding him who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
