The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Click or tap the small triangles above and below the frame on the left to display the Juz Table of Contents where you can go to any Juz, Hizb, ¾, ½, ¼, or any page within.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
Read the entire Holy Quran in full color, where pages randomly generate their colors and shapes so that the same scheme never repeats twice.
