The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
