The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who amasses wealth and hordes it. 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama. 4 And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 In outstretched columns. 9
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
