The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
