If they charge thee with falsehood, say: "My work to me, and yours to you! ye are free from responsibility for what I do, and I for what ye do!" 41 Of them some seem to give heed to you; will you, then, make the deaf hear even though they understand nothing? 42 And of them are some who look at thee, so canst thou guide the blind, even though they see not? 43 God does not do the least bit of injustice to anyone but people wrong themselves. 44 (But today they are oblivious of everything except enjoyment of worldly life.) And on the Day when He will muster all men together, they will feel as though they had been in the world no more than an hour of the day to get acquainted with one another. (It will then become evident that) those who called the lie to meeting with Allah were utter losers and were not rightly-directed. underlies this sharp remark is the faint hope that perhaps such people would be shaken out of their slumber. 45 Whether We let you see some of that with which We promised them, or We call you to Us, to Us they shall return. Allah is witness of the things they do. 46 To every people (was sent) a messenger: when their messenger comes (before them), the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged. 47 And they say: "When will be this promise (the torment or the Day of Resurrection), - if you speak the truth?" 48 Say: "I have no power over any harm or profit to myself except as Allah willeth. To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation)." 49 Say: 'Have you considered? Should His punishment come upon you by night or by day, what (part) of it would the sinners try to hasten' 50 Is it then, that when it has actually befallen, that you will believe in it? What! Now (you believe)? And you used (aforetime) to hasten it on!" 51 Then it shall be said to the evildoers: 'Taste the punishment of eternity! Shall you be recompensed except according to what you earned' 52 And they ask you: Is that true? Say: Aye! by my Lord! it is most surely the truth, and you will not escape. 53
