And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?" 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 until the day of a known time." 38 He said, "My Lord, since You have let me go astray. I shall make the path of error seem alluring to them on the earth and shall mislead them all, 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 with seven gates leading into it, each gate receiving its allotted share of sinners. 44
