And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 for an appointed time." 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." 42 And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
