Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 A curse shall be on you till the Day of Recompense' 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." 40 (To which God) said: "This way is right by Me. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
