Al-Hijjr 4 of 6
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains: 45 “Enter them with peace, in safety.” 46 We shall strip away all rancour that is in their breasts; as brothers they shall be upon couches set face to face; 47 They shall face no fatigue in it, nor shall they ever be driven out of it. 48 ۞ [O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful. 49 At the same time, My chastisement is highly painful. 50 Tell them about the guests of Abraham 51 When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!" 52 "Have no fear," they said. "We bring you news of a son full of wisdom." 53 He said, "Do you bring me such news despite my old age? What kind of good news are you bringing me?" 54 give me good tidings?' They said, 'We give thee good tidings of truth. Be not of those that despair.' 55 [Abraham] exclaimed: "And who - other than those who have utterly lost their way - could ever abandon the hope of his Sustainer's grace?" 56 [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 57 They (the angels) said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners). 58 (All) save the family of Lot. Them we shall deliver every one, 59 "Other than his wife who, it is decreed, will remain with those who will stay behind." 60

(3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
