The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause]. 85 Your Lord is the Creator, the Knower. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
