▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
