The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 "If ye obey a man like yourselves, behold, it is certain ye will be lost. 34 Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which you are promised. 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 He is only a man who has invented a lie about God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 The messenger said, "My Lord, help me, for they have rejected me." 39 God said, "Before long they will be filled with regret." 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time their messenger came to a people, they rejected him. So We destroyed them one after the other, and let them become mere tales. So away with the people who will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 Unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they grew stiff-necked, and they were a people self-exalting. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 So they rejected them both, and became those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book that people might be guided by it. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
