۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 Then, are we not to die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
