Hizb 46
< random >
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 So you and your deities 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
