Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
