The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it plunges, 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 nor speaks he out of caprice. 3 It is no less than inspiration sent down to him: 4 taught by One who is Stern in power. 5 One strong of make. Then he stood straight. 6 being on the higher horizon, 7 and then drew near, and came close, 8 Until a space of two bow (arcs) or even less remained, 9 So Allah divinely revealed to His bondman, whatever He divinely revealed. 10 The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 Indeed, he saw him in another descent 13 Near the lote-tree of the last boundary. 14 Near which is the garden, the place to be resorted to. 15 When there comes to the Lote Tree, that which comes 16 His eye did not waver, nor did it stray, 17 Indeed, he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, 19 And Manat, the third, the other? 20 What! for you the males and for Him the females! 21 Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! 22 They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers – Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 But unto Allah belongeth the after (life), and the former. 25
