(The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar." 25 They shall know tomorrow whichsoever is a liar insolent. 26 “We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.” 27 Tell them that the water is to be divided between them, a drink each for them in turn' 28 But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). 29 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warning. 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 As a favour from Us. That is how We reward the grateful. 35 And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. 36 And they tried to persuade him regarding his guests – We therefore blinded their eyes, “So taste My punishment, and My warnings.” 37 And at daybreak a determined punishment came upon them. 38 “So taste My punishment, and My warnings!” 39 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
