WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 From the right and the left, in groups? 37 Does every one of them wish to enter the garden of tranquility? 38 Never so. We have created them from what they know. 39 I do not need to swear by the Lord of the eastern and western regions that We have certainly all the power 40 to exchange them with others better than they; nothing can outstrip Us! 41 Therefore leave them alone to go on with the false discourses and to sport until they come face to face with that day of theirs with which they are threatened; 42 The day on which they shall come forth from their graves in haste, as if they were hastening on to a goal, 43 humbled their eyes, overspreading them abasement. That is the day which they were promised. 44
