Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
We sent Noah forth to his people, saying, "Warn your people before there comes upon them a grievous punishment." 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 saying, "Serve God, and fear Him, and obey you me, 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 He said: "O my Lord! Verily, I have called my people night and day (i.e. secretly and openly to accept the doctrine of Islamic Monotheism). 5 but my call has only caused them to flee farther and farther away [from Thee]. 6 Evert time I invite them to Your (guidance) so that You can forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, cover their heads with their clothes, persist in their disbelief and display extreme arrogance. 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 rain from the sky, 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 And God has laid the earth for you as a carpet, 19 so that you may tread its spacious paths.” 20
