Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 We thought that no man or jinn could ever tell lies about God. 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight. 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 when God's servant stood up to pray to Him, they pressed close to him in great numbers, almost stifling him. 19
